PINEAPPLE AND VANILLA CHIA SMOOTHIE

If you are looking for a light, refreshing smoothie to have as a snack, then this is for you! This pineapple and vanilla chia smoothie is packed full of health benefits, without the addition of any added sugar or empty calories.

The pineapple and limes are full of Vitamin C, which helps to reduce inflammation and boost immunity. And for that extra twist, the soaked chia seeds give a lovely texture, almost like bubble tea!

For a boost of protein, this recipe contains a scoop of Vanilla Vegan Protein, for an extra 20 grams of protein!.


Serves two 

Ingredients:

200g pineapple, fresh or frozen 400ml water
Zest and juice of 2 limes
40g Vivo Life vanilla Vegan Protein 
1 1⁄2 tbsp chia seeds
120ml water (for soaking the chia seeds)
Small pinch of sea salt
Ice to serve

Method: 

 

1 Soak the chia seed in 120ml of water for 30 minutes, stirring regularly. After 30 minutes you can use it for the smoothie or store in the fridge to use later.

2 When ready to serve, combine the pineapple with 400ml of water, the zest and juice of the limes, protein powder and pinch of salt in a blender and blend until smooth.

3 Add ice and the soaked chia seeds between two glasses. Pour the smoothie over the ice and chia mixture, and
stir well so that the chia seeds are well dispersed. Serve immediately, sit back and enjoy the sun.
